Putting Theory into Practice: GEOSYN’s Real-World Testing Journey

For any innovative technology, the true test comes when theory meets reality. The GEOSYN project is moving from laboratory experiments to full-scale testing in relevant environments, marking a critical advancement towards commercial viability.

Full-Scale Implementation

Led by RIVACOLD, the GEOSYN team will begin commissioning the complete system in a real industrial setting starting in June 2026. This phase represents the culmination of years of design, modelling, and laboratory testing—bringing together all components into a functioning whole.

Unlike controlled laboratory conditions, this real-world environment will subject the system to the variables and challenges of actual industrial operations. Temperature fluctuations, varying demand patterns, and integration with existing infrastructure will all impact performance.

The testing will monitor numerous parameters:

  • Heat pump performance across different temperature ranges
  • Refrigeration cycle efficiency
  • Energy consumption
  • System reliability under sustained operation
  • Response to changing industrial demands

Continuous Improvement Through Data

Throughout this extensive testing period, which continues until August 2027, a sophisticated monitoring network will collect operational data. This information flows to a central platform developed by RIVACOLD, enabling the calculation of key performance indicators and visualization of results.

The data serves dual purposes: validating the technology while simultaneously providing opportunities for refinement. Through this analysis, the engineering team can identify potential adjustments to enhance performance based on real-world operation.

By August 2027, GEOSYN will deliver a comprehensive report on these full-scale tests, documenting the technology’s readiness for broader industrial adoption and providing a blueprint for future implementations across Europe.

This methodical approach to testing ensures that when GEOSYN technology reaches the market, it will deliver on its promises of efficiency, reliability, and environmental benefit.
